Sustainable Energy: here is the European week

From 23 to 27 June it is the European week of sustainable energy. So what happens? Apart from a series of important initiatives in Italy and Europe, many Energy Days in our country organized by the mayors in the area, the EU Sustainable Energy Week it is an opportunity to reflect on environmental sustainability in its declension of energy efficiency and green energies.

The first edition of EUSEW dates back to 2006, the European Commission wanted it, and since then the 'week' has become an annual event for public administrations, energy agencies, companies and all the actors involved in achieving the energy and climate objectives set from the EU.

The program includes a political conference in Brussels from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 June, and a series of Energy Days across the continent with the aim of disseminating good practices and good behaviors in the field ofenergy efficiency, with particular attention to the potential offered by renewable energies.

There are 5 issues that have been taken into particular consideration since the 2014 edition: communication, consumption, learning, construction and transport. The communication concerns raising awareness of the general public, learning refers to educational programs, construction to sustainable living, consumption to energy saving and transport to green mobility.

It deserves special mention in the context of European week of sustainable energy the prize-event the 'Sustainable Energy Europe and Manage Energy Awards'. Especially since some of the candidate projects are Italian. In particular, the initiative is among the finalists Smart city - Municipalities in Class A desired and built by the Sardinia Region.

The reason why the Smart City - Municipalities in Class A project was judged among the deserving of the final phase lies in the involvement of local administrations in sustainable development in the area. Another Italian initiative to be highlighted in the EUSEW is PATRES, Public Administration Training and Coaching on Renewable Energy Systems, a project involving 7 countries for the promotion of sustainable construction.
