5) Get a detailed map to get to know the area you are going to explore.
6) Never abandon the indicated paths or try to take "shortcuts", the precipices can often be around the corner. It is also really difficult to find your way in woods or vast expanses where landmarks are scarce.
7) Do not cross rivers without first carrying out careful research, especially if they are mountain rivers, these can hide dangerous dangers such as eddies or sudden rises in the water level due to unexpected storms.
8) Before embarking on any path, check the weather forecast, not only for the day you are due to arrive but also for the day before: a wet path can be really slippery.
9) During the naturalistic trekking routes it is good practice to respect nature by avoiding picking flowers, lighting fires and leaving waste around.
10) Learn to use the compass and for i trekking routes longer bring an extra battery for your smartphone, especially if it serves as a map.

If you are planning to tackle a trekking route very demanding, remember to travel light and take the essentials with you. Before embarking on a challenging 15 km route that could take you away, at best, 6 hours of time, train in urban routes.
The urban trekking it's fun and represents an excellent opportunity to train.
Of course, in the city the roads are not steep, you will not have to attach yourself to safety ropes as it might happen in a trekking route at the Gorges du Verdon, but at least you will start to test your muscles. Many urban trekking routes involve a large number of stairs, an example? In Positano there is a flight of 1300 steps!
