A Green New Deal for Italy


Protection of Water is Green Economy Regions-Local Authorities are the two new Working Groups established in 2013 since National Council of the Green Economy, and which join the 8 already existing on the following themes: Eco-innovation; Efficiency, renewability of materials and waste recycling; Energy efficiency and savings; Renewable energy sources; Ecosystem services; Sustainable mobility; Agricultural supply chains of ecological quality; Sustainable finance and credit for the green economy.

The meeting of Regions-Local Authorities Group for the sharing of the programmatic document is scheduled for Thursday 12 September in Rome in the presence of: Ignazio Marino, mayor of Rome; Roberto Maroni, president of the Lombardy Region; Piero Fassino, President of ANCI; Sabina De Luca the Department for Economic Development and Cohesion within the Ministry for Economic Development;Agostino Ghiglia, coordinator of the Environment and Energy Commission in the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces; Lorena Pesaresi, Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Perugia; Michelangelo Marchesi, Councilor for the Environment and Mobility of the Municipality of Trento; Sara Vito, Councilor for the Environment and Energy of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The moment to take stock of the preparatory activities carried out by all the working groups also this year coincides with the event Ecomondo-Key Energy - Cooperambiente (scheduled for 6 and 7 November 2013 in Rimini). At Ecomondo, the National Council of the Green Economy will talk about the priorities necessary to develop a national development plan based on the green economy, 'A Green New Deal for Italy '.

The path of States General of the Green Economy Meanwhile, it has found two exceptional supports: that of Andrea Orlando, Minister of the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea; is that of Flavio Zanonato, Minister of Economic Development.
