Expo 2015: innovation in the pizzeria


Expo 2015 does not forget pizza and the importance of this recipe for Italy in the world. But is it possible to innovate with pizza? Well, when it comes to pizza it is better not to touch the ingredients and the recipe, which is tradition, but when it comes to pizzerias, the situation changes. From these ideas was born the idea of ​​the international competition The 5 Seasons, a 'pizza' title, conceived in view of Expo 2015 by Agugiaro & Figna Molini spa, a specialist in taylor made flours, in collaboration with Poli.Design, a consortium of the Milan Polytechnic. The 5 Stagioni international competition: 3 cash prizes for the 3 best ideas in the field of conception, design and construction of places with pizza production. In short, pizzerias.

Expo 2015 it is the framework in which the initiative fits and will be enhanced. Also because the theme of the Expo is food and talking about pizza and pizzerias suits us perfectly.

You can participate in two ways:

  • Opening section: for projects of premises and spaces with the production of pizza, with internal consumption or take-away, created and inaugurated between 1 January 2013 and 1 January 2015.
  • Concept section: for design proposals and concepts of pizzeria premises and spaces with pizza production, with consumption inside or take away, not yet realized, developed for potential clients within architectural firms or contract companies, or by individual designers in the period between 1 January 2013 and 1 January 2015.

The competition is open to individuals over the age of 18 and provides for 3 cash prizes: 3,500 euros for the 1st classified; 2,500 euros to the second classified; 1,500 euros for the 3rd classified.
