How to pave the garden, phases

  • Prepare a regular flat support by removing any turf and raking the soil thoroughly.
  • Prepare a perimeter that will trace the boundaries of your pavement. You can arrange for the installation of special concrete curbs.
  • Prepare the bottom with damp sand stabilized with a little cement. Rake to obtain a homogeneous and smooth surface, compact the surface and check the surface with a spirit level.
  • In addition to the level level, it is necessary to check with perpendicular lines that the height of the sand layer is sufficient to keep the cubes stable at the level of the perimeter curbs.
  • With a compass draw the shapes to be filled with the porphyry cubes (any fans, circular shapes….).
  • Place the cubes, one by one, along the curves. The porphyry cubes must be placed as close as possible until they fill all the spaces of the surface to be paved.
  • When the installation is complete, fill in the spaces that form between one cube and another by sealing them. The "joints" are sealed with a mixture of sand soaked with water and cement, spread this mixture with a broom and remove the surface with the special vibrating plate.

NB: the vibrating plate can be easily hired.
