Mint, cultivation and properties


Theremintis a plant of the family ofLabiate. The genrementha includes several species, all with erect whip around 50 cm.

The aquatic mintit has oval, petiolate leaves, flowers in the shape of globose heads. It grows spontaneously in highly humid areas, in ditches and along waterways.

Peppermint
Therepeppermintis the most common species for thecultivation, has slightly petiolate, lanceolate leaves characterized by an intense dark green color. Therepeppermintit is the only one that discriminates with a certain ease, in fact it can be distinguished from other species of mintdue to the dark color of the leaves, the other species ofmintthey have lighter and less intense leaves.

Mint longifolia
Therelongifolia mintit has lanceolate leaves, flowers arranged in summit spikes and commonly grows in uncultivated fields and at the edges of cultivated fields up to 700 meters.

Mint rotondifolia
As the name suggests, themintrotondifolia has round, wrinkled and lattice leaves. It grows spontaneously in humid areas.

Cultivating Mint
Theremint cultivationit's simple, it doesn't require any special skills. In the home it is possible growing mint in pots or in the garden. Just choose a sunny or slightly shady location. As stated, the most used species for thecultivationand thepeppermint. Theremintit thrives and expands easily, so it is better not to grow it in association with other herbs.
