Spring water, characteristics

Spring water it is the one that flows from rocks or from deep soils. Regardless of its quality in terms of hardness and purity, that's the definition spring water leads us to take for granted even if in reality it is not so, spring water it is synonymous with dynamism and vitality.

For this reason thespring water that gushes from the rocks it seems better to us, more compact, more alive, with a fuller taste. It quenches and refreshes us better than the water that comes out of the tap and bottled water. Here, in fact: thespring water 'Gushes' while the tap water 'comes out'. Bottled water is locked up and is the slave of a form. This is enough to make us prefer thespring water.

Spring water alpina is water filtered by earthy and sandy layers that act as a 'particulate filter for water': heavy pollutants decay and the water is cleaned. It is also 'dynamized water', that is, water with the ability to vitalize the body's cells and to be therapeutic for the excretory organs, starting with the kidneys. However, take care to drink it upstream from inhabited centers and pastures, to prevent it from being contaminated by organic pollutants.

To drink spring water it can happen during mountain walks. Or on vacation for those lucky enough to have a home near a natural spring. In the first case, respect the indication of 'not drinkable' when you find it; and if you really are thirsty, use precautions such as a portable water purifier. In the second case, since it is a continuous use, perform a periodic analysis of the water.

To highlight any organic pollutants without excluding any, a laboratory analysis is required. But if you are far from inhabited centers and pastures and the source has a quick change, you can rest easy. If you really don't trust it, you can use a water distiller (up to 4 liters at a time) or produce distilled water yourself.

For chemical pollutants, a do-it-yourself water analysis kit may also suffice. There are simple and inexpensive ones, such as the one created by the Bicocca University of Milan, which using colorimetric strips highlights the presence of chlorides, sulphates, nitrates and nitrites in the water. Kits of this type also serve to determine the hardness and pH of the water.
